10 04 20091947 – Jackie Robinson becomes 1st black in major league baseball (Dodgers)
Jackie Robinson’s number is retired throughout baseball but contrary to popular belief in Long Island he did not play for the Mets….he was a Brooklyn Dodger. I swear that Jackie Robinson rotunda is going to confuse so many young Mets fans that I am making it my personal mission to make sure that everyone knows the Mets have zero baseball history. Happy Anniversary Jackie!

Friday Morning Update
10 04 2009
- CARLA PAVANO STILL SUCKS! So last night Carla made his Indians debut and here is how it went. 1 IP, 6 hits, 9 Earned Runs, 3 Walks, 2 Home Runs and a whopping 81.00 ERA. I hope Carla pitches in the first series at the new stadium.

- Ok so the Devils locked up the division whoop de doo. Now it’s time to get some momentum going into the playoffs or its going to be a long off season for Brent Sutter. Don’t mess this up!
- Tiger shot a 70 at Augusta yesterday. Now that mostly would make me think he had no shot being 5 back and all…ha not Tiger he has everyone right where he wants them. Watch you’ve seen it so many times before by the end of today Eldrick Tont Woods will be right up there probably about 2 or 3 behind just waiting in the weeds.
- Michael Phelps apparently gets hammered in NYC. Ok so the story went something like this….Mr. Gold Medal was at a club in the city where he was drinking straight out of the bottle of Grey Goose dancing to M.I.A. Paper Planes and trying to hang with “The Big Stick Figure” Hasheem Thabeet. The problem Thabeet isn’t the worlds biggest swim fan and had no idea who Phelps was. Phelps walked away looking a little defeated. Now I appreciate what Michael Phelps did in the Olympics but dude no one is going to recognize you right away unless you’re swearing a spandex skullie on your head and doing your ridiculous bird stretch. You’re a swimmer!
- Paterno twitters! No not that one the more useless one who seems to kill QB careers the longer they start. Jay Paterno apparently JayPa decided to release game times on Twitter which were pulled almost immediately probably because little Jay wasn’t supposed to release that info yet but so far according to the lesser Paterno the Iowa game is at night the Northwestern game is a 4. Now the Big 10 (11) has a new rule that there are no night games in November? What is this soccer! What kind of ridiculously soft rule is this. If this rule is true that means no prime time match-up for the Nitts and Buckeyes! I really want to see if they turn down the ABC money.
- T.O. finally showed up in Buffalo…he heard it was probably above freezing so its now safe to walk around pantsless. Seriously dude no one wants to see your junk. What is with this guy? Everyone remembers when Andy Reid (in the only act I ever appreciated) stepped up and told T.O. to wear pants. He’s like a 2 year old who keeps taking his pants off because he wants to. Forget the tights Peter Pan and wear shorts like everyone else.

- In the AL East…the Yankees beat the O’s, the Sox lose to the Rays and the Jays beat Detroit (*pictures in order of standings)

Until I get a good Orioles picture...which is impossible to find I'm going with anything BMore
